Founded in 2011 by Trevor Gains, ASAP Appliance Repair has established itself as a local, authorized repair and installation company on Vancouver Island. In the last twelve years, our company has grown to include twelve knowledgeable and factory-trained appliance technicians.

With eleven customer care agents in our Victoria office and one in Kelowna, booking is quick and effortless. Since our customers are at the center of everything we do, we pride ourselves on providing top-quality service that puts your best interest first.

I have been servicing appliances and installing high-end appliances for 17 years. I went to university for appliance servicing and have my gas c ticket and CFC Recovery certification. I have also been certified as a FCI installer for Subzero and am a factory certified installer for Miele. I pride myself in always putting the effort in to repair an appliance on the first visit by diagnosing the issue and ordering parts prior to arriving at my customer’s home. If I do not believe an appliance is worth repair or is unrepairable I will always recommend and advise on suitable replacement options that are the best fit for my customer. Brands I personally recommend are Bosch and Asko for dishwashers, Electrolux for laundry, Fisher Paykel for fridges and Subzero/Wolf for all types of appliances.

I’ve been working on appliance since I was a kid because my dad owned an appliance repair shop and that’s where I use to spend my afternoons after school. In 2009 I opened a repair shop with my dad and I’ve been working as an appliance repair technician since. I graduated in 2005 at the Institute of Industrial Education (Italy) in Electronic Engineering, I owned and operated an appliance repair company for 10 years, and in those years I worked directly with European manufacturers to improve customer service. I like to work together with customers in order to tackle their appliances issues. Sometimes listening to the customer complains is the best diagnostic tool we have.

I knew upon graduation from University that this was the industry I wanted to work in. I was born in the Ukraine where I gained valuable repair experience and completed my appliance repair certifications. Due to my experience and family background this is the work I love to do. I always strive to provide high quality service and good customer service. I recommend brands based on my customer’s needs and home design, but a good choice is always Samsung, Bosch, Electrolux, Subzero and Miele.

I began my career as an appliance technician in 2012 back in Edmonton and learned the trade over the course of several years, specializing in dishwasher swap-outs and full suite new construction installs. After honing my skills and taking some time off for education, I spent a year doing renovations full-time which vastly improved my abilities as an installer. Now, rather than having to tell a client to “call somebody” when something isn’t quite right, I am that somebody! I enjoy the creative problem solving that comes with working in existing kitchens; no two are ever the same (especially on the Island, as I quickly found out when I moved my family here in 2019) and yet the job always gets done. Aside from my experience as a renovator, what sets me apart is an eye for detail. There’s something immensely satisfying about getting a panel-ready appliance’s lines to merge seamlessly with the rest of the cabinetry, and I believe it really makes a difference in the final product. I love working with Bosch, Miele, Fisher & Paykel and Subzero appliances because they make that type of fine-tuning a breeze.

I chose this career path 16 years ago due to my passion for helping others and my enjoyment with working with tools. You get an immense amount of satisfaction from successfully repairing an issue with an appliance. I was always the go to guy for tech support or mechanical help in my family from a young age. In 2007, I graduated from Kwantlen Polytechnic with a certificate in Appliance Repair and Gas Appliance Service. My broad experience working with and for multiple brands has granted me deep knowledge of the industry. I use that knowledge to provide the best possible experience for my customers. I can confidently recommend Bosch dishwasher and they provide amazing value. I would also strongly recommend Sub-Zero products as they created a benchmark standard for built-in refrigeration!

After graduating with a Commerce Degree from the University of Victoria, I began working for ASAP and have been apart of the family for the last three years. I really enjoy my job as I understand the crucial role our home appliances play in our daily lives. I understand that empathy is the most important aspect of customer service. In 2015, I graduated from a diploma in Customs & Border Services. I then moved to the Island from Ontario in 2018 and started managing restaurants around the city. I came across a Dispatch position with ASAP Ventures and decided to apply. I was hired and that is where it all began. 3 years later and I now am the Service Manager as well I run our parts department. My logistics background finally came to use. In my spare time, you can find me singing Karaoke, taking photos of our beautiful landscape and wildlife and paddleboarding with my dog.
